Several years ago I connected with a gentleman in my hometown who introduced me to the world of serial cliffhangers. I had a microscopic bit of knowledge on them prior, but he really made the world come alive...more than on screen.
Since then we've tried to meet up once a week and have a few coffees while watching a serial. Some are on VHS, some on DVD, and a few on Blu-ray. My favorites are always the VHS version because it gives me the feeling of being in the theater watching the film during its original run. But we always try and find one we haven't seen before, although serials like Captain Marvel (1941) has been watched more than once.
Among some of my favorite serial cliffhangers are, in no particular order: Captain Marvel (1941), Adventures of Red Ryder (1940), all three Flash Gordon serials, and Secret Code.
So my question to you is, what is your favorite serial(s)?

Just finished up watching the Crimson Ghost (1946). This is one of the better serials I've seen and contains a ton of action. In fact, each chapter is basically fist fights with rooms getting demolished in the process. The Crimson Ghost costume is also very iconic, mainly due to the punk band The Misfits.
I highly recommend this serial cliffhanger, and it is such a fast watch.
